2016-01-24 15:17:00rev. 5CORRECTAlso other signals according to http://pinoutsguide.com/UPS/apc_usb_cable_pinout.shtml are OK and present at SMT series. SMT UPS also does have USB on RJ50 socket! TX does go high when ON_BATT etc. Tested (except pin 8 but they should work too). So you can use USB printer style cable and at the same time use simple signaling via RJ50 (I would not test RJ50 USB + USB socket connection at the same time though).APPROVED

2022-01-26 03:15:04rev. 11CORRECTCorrect pinout for APC UPS SMT750I. (1+4 and 7+8 shorted inside DB-9 plug as well) I put together 30cm long adapter cable with DB-9 female (PC side) to RJ45 Cat6 keystone jack, then used regular 1:1 (not cross-over) Cat6 UTP 3 meter cable to reach UPS. This way cable can be easily extended if needed by replacing it with longer UTP cable. Make sure not to use cross-over UTP cable in this case.APPROVED
2022-01-26 03:18:26rev. 11CORRECTCable on PC side is 9 pin D-SUB female connector - not male connector.APPROVED
