ERROR FIXEDThe connectors used for 80-way high speed ATA cables are NOT the same as the 40-pin connectors. Externally they look the same, but internally they are much more complicated, with a grounding rail along the body to earth all the extra shielding wires in the cable.APPROVED
CORRECTSome nice extra info about the connector and things around it. Keep up the good work. :)APPROVED
2008-09-15 02:16:16rev. 4INCORRECTFirst. These connectors have not 40 pin, but 39. The apsent pin is a key, protection from incorrect connection. Second. Male and female connectors should be mirror reflections of each other.APPROVED

2012-06-27 21:30:05rev. 5INCORRECTThe master drive is not at all "in charge". In fact, the official spec lists the two drives as "Device 0" and "Device 1".APPROVED

2023-04-09 18:00:57rev. 9CORRECTI'm interested in making a stand-alone cd player from an internal drive using the coax digital output on the back (2 pins). My problem is to start the playback on drives that do not have a play/volume button on the front (which I know is also analog, but I will not need the analog out). Is there a pin that will start playback? Maybe pin 25. If you have any additional info regarding audio playback on this type unit, it will be much appreciated. Thanks.APPROVED
