INCORRECTThe IDC connector pinout does not seem to be correct. Isn"t pin 1 usually (indicated by *):APPROVED
CORRECTAPPROVED
INCORRECTArent the IDC headers usually noted with pin 1 to the right of the polarization key, looking at the top of the male header. Top right, as pictured, pin 10 should be labeled pin 1.
Another item that may create confusion is that some manufacturers decide to label the remaining pins across and then back down to the 2nd row (starting out right to left just like the top row). This becomes ambiguous when others decide to keep on jumping with the pin numbering inbetween the rows, such that one row contains odd and the other row contains the even numbered pins. Just depends who felt like it, or what the policy was at the time...

2013-09-08 13:38:39rev. 9ERROR FIXEDimage of 10 pin IDC is incorrect (09/09/2013) IDC is: first row with noth 1.3.5.7.9 second row without notch 2.4.6.8.10. BUT there is 2 flavor of header (ex: Motherboard header) (AT/EVEREX) or (DTK/EVEREX) witch "match" the IDC10. But the pinout layer DIFFER ! (DTK/INTEL) 1-DCD 2-DSR 3-RXD 4-RTS 5-TXD 6-GTS 7-DTR 8-RI 9-GND 10-- (AT/EVEREX) 1-DCD 2-RXD 3-TXD 4-DTR 5-GND 6-DSR 7-RTS 8-CTS 9-RI 10-- You need an according port ( with the accordingly cable layout) to the flavor of header you have! Example: If ou want to have a DB9 put on a 10pinIDC you HAVE TO put an RS-232 Port with pitch header (DTK/INTEL) or with pitch header (AT/Everex) depending of the flavour of the pinout layer! 2017-11-06 16:49:24rev. 17ERROR FIXEDPin 5 is referred to as GND or ground but should be labeled 0V or COM/common. Ground should be used to denote connection to earth ground and not a power supply common rail. Of course some power supply commons are tied to earth but we dont call them earth or ground, we still call them common or earthed/grounded common.APPROVED
