CORRECTCan you give me another model of APPLE iPod dock pinout? Thank you very much!APPROVED
CORRECTAPPROVED
CORRECTConfirmed audio and firewire power. Other pins appear to be correctly listed from what I could see in the dock i disassembled. Also, connecting pin 21 as listed to ground with a 1MOhm resistor does stop the ipod when power (Firewire-12V, havn"t tried USB) is cut. Very handy for turning off your ipod when your car turns off. Also note that this pin diagram has the numbers in reverse order of what will be labeled in a dock connector.APPROVED

INCORRECTSecond sentence states that this connector exists in all iPod MP3 players, it is not in the 1G and 2G (first sentence is correct).APPROVED
INCORRECTIpod 1G and 2G dont have this connector!APPROVED
CORRECTinformation about serial communication is ok. only one little problem. pin 17 is not in our pinout diagram. pin 17 i have connect to ground on my remote control.APPROVED
CORRECTi must apologize, pin 17 is NOT connected to ground! sorry for my eyes mistake :-/APPROVED

2009-01-07 03:14:54rev. 13INCORRECTIn pin 27's description, under iphone 3G charging, if you use a 33kOhm and 47kOhm resistor as described you will get 2.94 volts at pin 25, NOT 2.8 as described. If you want 2.8 volts you should use a 33kOhm and a 42kOhm as described.APPROVED

2009-06-13 04:01:48rev. 16ERROR FIXEDPin 11 "serial GND" does not provide an actual serial ground - it is not grounded at the device. Serial port should rely on another ground pin (e.g. pin 15 or 1).APPROVED

2009-08-19 18:26:33rev. 18CORRECTPin 2 (in the chart) says it's connected to pin 2 when it should say it's connected to pin 1. APPROVED
2009-09-24 08:22:41rev. 18CORRECTLine outs are corerect. But in pin 27, have to use 100k resistor to force the iPod classic 120G to charge in any case.APPROVED

2009-11-14 00:07:51rev. 19CORRECTNo errors that I know of, but I have a few questions. Can pin 2 be connected to the GND of the headphone jack safely? How can you fool the iPod into thinking "iPod camera connector" is presont so that it steps up pin 18 to 5V?APPROVED
2009-11-26 20:16:20rev. 19CORRECTiPod 4G grayscale can also be forced to charge by attaching the data + and the data - pins to the 5v via a 10k Ohm resistor ( BOTH PINS) and connecting pin 16 to the 5v (ground). (Confirmed working with iPod 4G 20GB)APPROVED

2010-10-09 22:09:21rev. 30INCORRECT"In pin 27's description, under iphone 3G charging, if you use a 33kOhm and 47kOhm resistor as described you will get 2.94 volts at pin 25, NOT 2.8 as described. If you want 2.8 volts you should use a 33kOhm and a 42kOhm as described." "To charge an iPhone 3G / iPod Touch 2nd gen or Ipod Classic (6th Gen), usb data- (25) should be at 2.8v, usb data+(27) should be at 2.0v. This can be done with a few simple resistors: 33k to +5v (23) and 22k to gnd(16) to obtain 2v and 33k to +5v and 47k to gnd to obtain 2.8v. This is a notification to the iphone that it is connected to the external charger and may drain amps from the usb." The resistor values required to obtain + 2.8 volts on pin 25 and + 2 volts on pin 27 will vary slightly depending on the load of the Apple device connected. Values stated will achieve + 2.8 volts and + 2.0 volts under no load conditions.APPROVED

2012-01-05 19:59:39rev. 43ERROR FIXEDThe pin numbers are reversed. The Apple spec lists USB power as pin 8 and Line out L as pin 27, for instance. The manufacturer of the connector also uses the same pinout. Look in the JAE datasheets. Some products like PodGizmo are correct, but others are reversed because they followed your page. Please fix your page.APPROVED

2012-04-14 01:17:21rev. 43ERROR FIXEDYour pin numbering is backwards. Lots of people are following your pinouts, but yours are wrong. See the manufacturer's diagram at http://ipl.derpapst.eu/wiki/Dock_Connector#Dock_Connector_Pin_OutAPPROVED

2008-10-20 22:14:03rev. 11Fred HarmonI am hacking a new Nano 4th Gen to try to make it charge. As you may know, it no longer will charge from 12 volts on the firwire pins. I have found that if I tie pins 25 and 27 together through a 10K ohm resistor while applying +/- 5 volts to pins 23 and 15 (or 16) that it will charge. If you don't tie 25 and 27 together, it won't charge
2008-11-27 22:28:40rev. 12Graham ChatfieldThe 2.0 and 2.8 voltages to charge iPhone 3G were reversed. It still worked before, but the correct method after measuring an Apple usb power cube is 2.0 v to usb data+ (27) and 2.8v to usb data- (25). Added iTouch 2nd gen to that as well.

2010-10-17 14:03:36rev. 33Fred HarmonI'd like to modify my statement about chargning the 4th gen Nano. ins 25 and 27 should be tied together and then connected to a 10K ohm resistor, and the other side of this resistors then needs to be connected to 5v power if you want your Nano to charge.
